Hugh Douglas, Son of Ex-Eagles DE, Dies In Atlanta Car Crash

The Philadelphia Eagles community lost a member of its extended family after the son of former defensive end Hugh Douglas died in a car accident early Monday evening.

Hugh Doulas was one of two Morehouse College students killed in a car crash outside of Atlanta.

According to police, the crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. on Linwood Avenue and Church Street.

The other passenger was Douglas’ roommate and friend, Christion Files Jr, who was also a member of the school’s graduating Class of 2025.

Morehouse College confirmed the passing of both students with a post on its social media platforms. Douglas was a Business Administration student with a concentration in Finance. He was and AltFinance fellow and Goldman Sachs fellow, an Ares Management intern, and the Treasurer & CFO of the Morehouse Business Association. 

The roommates killed in the single-vehicle crash in East Point, Georgia.

His father, Hugh Douglas Sr., was one of the greatest Eagles’ defensive linemen of all-time and is currently a host on 94.1 WIP.

Morehouse College Describes Douglas As An Exceptional Student

Morehouse College, one of the top HBCUs in the country, mourned both students with a post of its Facebook page.

In the post, the institution called Douglas ‘an exceptional student who displayed immense dedication and promise’.

Hugh Douglas was an exceptional student who displayed immense dedication and promise in pursuing a business administration degree with a concentration in finance. He was a member of the Morehouse Business Association, an AltFinance Fellow, and a Goldman Sachs Fellow, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in his field. Over the summer, he interned at Ares Management Corporation in Los Angeles.

Christion Files Jr. was a remarkable young man who made his mark academically and in extracurricular activities. He was a business administration major with a concentration in marketing. His leadership qualities were evident through his role as the co-captain of the Morehouse Track & Field team, media chair for the Junior Class Council, and as a dedicated member of the Morehouse Business Association. Beyond these achievements, Christion was known for his photography and videography skills, which he used to create high-quality content for students, campus organizations, Morehouse Athletics, and the College’s marketing office.
