Eagles Super Bowl Odds Improve By 11.1% At BetMGM Sportsbook

The Philadelphia Eagles lost all three of their preseason games ahead of the 2023 NFL regular season but that hasn’t stopped bettors from backing them to win Super Bowl 2024.

Philadelphia opened with +900 odds to win the Super Bowl at BetMGM, one of the legal sportsbooks in Pennsylvania.

Since then, the Eagles’ Super Bowl odds moved down to +800 on the odds board, representing an 11.1 percent improvement in their chances to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs remain the odds-on favorite to win it all once again in 2024. The Chiefs will open the regular season with +650 odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.

Last year’s NFC Championship Game opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, are tied with the Eagles at +800 odds to win the Super Bowl. They are followed closely by the Buffalo Bills (+850) and Cincinnati Bengals (+1100), who round out the top-five Super Bowl contenders heading into the 2023 NFL season.

How Have Teams Fared Following A Super Bowl Loss?

Only three teams have bounced from a Super Bowl loss to hoist the Lombardi Trophy the next season.

Among them, the 1972 Miami Dolphins put together a perfect season following their loss versus the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl VI. Miami beat the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII and followed that up with back-to-back Super Bowl titles by winning Super Bowl VIII versus the Minnesota Vikings.

The 1970 Cowboys and 2017 New England Patriots are the only other teams to lose the Super Bowl and win it the following year. Five more teams have reached the Super Bowl in back-to-back seasons but all five of those teams lost on both occasions.
