The Philadelphia Eagles got a surprise visit from one of the newest members of the Philly sports scene on Thursday, as 76ers head coach Nick Nurse paid a visit to the practice facility.
Nurse has been making several public appearances of late. He threw the first pitch for the Phillies game on Wednesday before visiting the Eagles and spending some time with quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Klutch Sports shared a photo of Nurse and Hurts on its Instagram story. In the story, Nurse can be seen holding a football while talking to Hurts. The pair also posed for a photo.
Jalen Hurts Talks To 76ers Head Coach Nick Nurse At Eagles Practice
It’s impossible to know exactly what Hurts and Nurse spoke about but the duo might have a lot to learn from each other.
Both Hurts and Nurse find themselves in similar situations after suffering disappointing defeats at the end of last season.
Hurts is trying to guide the Eagles back to the Super Bowl in 2024 while Nurse is hoping to move the 76ers beyond the second round of the NBA Playoffs, where they’ve stalled in five of the past six seasons.
Known for being a leader on and off the football field, Hurts could have been looking for a few pointers from Nurse, who is regarded as one of the best X’s and O’s coaches in the NBA.
Philadelphia will open the regular season on the road against mastermind Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Tom Brady will be commemorated by New England before the game and the ceremony is expected to bring back some fond memories for Eagles fans.
On the other hand, the 76ers will open the NBA season on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks on October 26.
