On Saturday’s NBC broadcast of the Philadelphia Eagles vs Baltimore Ravens preseason game, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox revealed an interesting bit of information that is sure to make Philly fans happy.
During the game, Cox said that former Eagles players have spoken with him and told him that the decision to leave Philadelphia was one of the worst decisions that they’ve ever made.
Cox has been a mainstay on the Eagles’ roster since being drafted in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. An Eagles legend and one of the best players in franchise history, Cox has been a leader on the defense for over a decade and has watched many of his teammates leave for greener pastures over the years.
However, the move hasn’t always worked out and finding their way back to Philadelphia isn’t always easy.
Who Were Fletcher Cox’s Comments About?
Many Eagles fans took to Twitter to guess who Cox might have been talking about.
While it’s possible he may have been referring to a retired player, several Eagles fans threw out some interesting possibilities.
Some fans believe it might have been Jalen Mills, a member of the Eagles’ Super Bowl team who left for New England following the 2020 season.
Meanwhile, some fans think it might have been a reference to CJ Gardner-Johnson.
Others thought it might be Malcolm Jenkins.
No matter who it was, one thing is clear: the Eagles are building a locker room culture that is becoming revered around the NFL. Having arguably the most passionate fan base in the league doesn’t hurt either.
