The Philadelphia Eagles training camp is underway and wide receiver A.J. Brown has been one of the standouts through the first eight days of practice. Brown has been nearly unstoppable on the outside, securing 83 percent of his targets while showing a unique combination of size and speed against opposing cornerbacks. Below, we’ll break down A.J. Brown’s training camp stats in 2023 and examine what his performance might mean for the Eagles ahead of Week 1.
Brown Putting Dominance On Display During Training Camp
Brown and close friend Jalen Hurts both enjoyed breakout seasons in 2022, the Eagles’ dynamic duo might just be getting started.
According to reports, Brown is having a monster training camp in 2023 and his chemistry with Hurts has been obvious.
The former Tennesse Titans’ wideout has snagged 25 of his 30 targets through eight practices at training camp, showing once again why the Eagles’ traded for him last year.
After getting to know one another better in 2022, Hurts and Brown look to be on a new level following their first full offseason together.
He had two catches today, bringing him to a team-high 25 catches on 30 targets. The improved chemistry between Brown and Hurts from having a full season together is obvious. Last season, Brown dominated versus single coverage, racking up 910 receiving yards, the most in the NFL.
In 2023, Brown appears poised to be Hurts’ top target once again.
And if training camp has been any indication, unless opposing teams send help Brown’s way, the Eagles’ receiver could be poised for an even bigger year in 2023.
